Conor Browne

Conor is a biorisk consultant, providing forecasting, analysis, risk management, and business continuity services to organisations worldwide, with a specific focus on biological threats. He holds a BA in Philosophy and two master’s degrees, one in Medical and Business Ethics and the other in Security Studies. In addition, he has professional training in both counterterrorism strategy and conflict resolution.

He has consulted on biological threats since 2009, with a particular focus on Dual Use Research of Concern (DURC) and in countering bioterrorism. Conor has also worked extensively at the nexus of conflict and disease, especially in refugee populations. He has travelled extensively in the Middle East and Central Europe as a result of this. Since January 2020, he has worked in both the global energy and commodity trading sector and the novel diagnostics sector, providing expert commentary to The Wall Street Journal, Argus Media, Third Bridge, The Daily Telegraph, and the Royal Irish Academy, amongst others.

Having spent five years of his life in the early 2000s suffering from a chronic illness, Conor is deeply personally committed to living his life as healthily as possible and enabling others to do the same. His background in philosophy informs his lifelong conviction that respect for others’ autonomy and the primacy of human flourishing are crucial cornerstones of living ethically. A keen runner, hiker, and photographer, Conor can often be found on the rugged North Coast of Ireland, searching for the perfect shot.
